A Masquerade for the Underbelly: Part I

We all wear masks at some point in our lives, some of us put one on every single day as though not doing so would be an impossibility. I find this is true more often than not, but in general, I don't think it is really a big deal. However, slopes are slippery, so one must be very careful when navigating such tumultuous terrain with sole-less shoes. Feet bleed in these conditions, dragging along leaving a thickening trail of blood in the dry dirt. It seems as though the strange unorthodox ones have many masks and interchange them frequently even amongst themselves for this is no act. It is merely that they are a divided conqueror in the mind that travels back through time to meet the retched humongous with an oozing wound dripping beneath the crease of his belly.
